At Huish Academy Trust we are fundamentally committed to realising the potential of all the young people who pass through our hands; we believe that all can achieve and that it is our role to nurture, teach and challenge our children to learn and develop to realise their possibilities.
The notion of good outcomes for children in our trust goes beyond the high standards in reading, writing and maths that we expect. We are responsible for tomorrow’s scientists, musicians and sports-people; moreover we seek for our children to become responsible members of their communities and to develop strong values: to become good people.
We believe that collaboration between our schools is key to our continued success and that by working collectively as a family of schools we are both stronger and more impactful. Collaboration for us does not equate to a loss of identity. We celebrate the individuality of each school in our trust but seek to benefit from commonalities and a shared core purpose: the improvement of teaching and learning.
Central to our beliefs is the principle of partnering with schools in our immediate locality. As a trust committed to improving outcomes for children in our local area we choose to work with schools near enough to allow regular in-person working. We believe this allows us to both work together more effectively and to understand the unique challenges and context in each of our schools.
